Growing Up Gay is a project sharing empowering stories, supportive advice, and relevant resources for gay men.
We aim to be a hub for advice and signposting, helping people navigate life, identity, and growing up, while recognising and respecting the diversity of the wider LGBTQIA+ community.
Our name reflects that “growing up” isn’t limited to youth—it’s a lifelong journey of identity, self-understanding, and connection. Whether in your teens, your twenties, or later in life, every stage of that journey deserves to be valued, respected, and understood.
We want to build a space reflecting the experiences of gay men, grounded in empathy, shared stories, and mutual support. Through collaboration and a range of voices, we aim to create a hub where people can find stories that resonate, feel seen, and better understand one another.
Inclusivity
Whilst this project primarily focuses on gay men, it aims to remain mindful and inclusive of the wider LGBTQIA+ community. This is a space built on respect and inclusion, and we welcome feedback on how our language and resources can be improved.
